Well, I weighed myself about an hour ago and I lost three more pounds
. I honestly wasn't really expecting to lose anything this week because the changes I made were so small and I don't get enough sleep with the baby, but I'm glad I did. This week I am adding leg lifts to the exercise routine and I am cutting sugar out of breakfast (except for fruit).
Pre-pregnancy: 125
Highest weight during pregnancy: 175
Current weight: 142
Pounds to lose: 17

Well, as of yesterday Seth is two weeks old.
I told myself I would wait two weeks after giving birth before making small steps toward losing the baby weight. I ended up gaining 50 pounds with the pregnancy, which is more than my 30-35 pound goal lol. The good news is that I have already lost 30 pounds. My weight has stayed the same for about a week now, so I think it is safe to assume it will stay there. So I have 20 pounds to lose. So today I started my "diet." It's not really a diet, more of a "get healthier" plan. I'm going to think of something new to change each week in my diet until I can't think of anything else. This week I am drinking more water (trying to drink 8 glasses a day), and I'm only going to drink water, milk, and unsweetened tea. I'll have other things once in awhile, but more as a treat. As for exercise, there isn't a lot I can do until I've had my checkup, so I am going to try to walk for 30 minutes a day. I walked today and I could feel it, so that will be good enough for this week. I'll weigh myself next Friday and hopefully I'll have lost a pound or two.

Seth has arrived
.
I was scheduled to be induced at 5:00 pm on the 29th, but I ended up going into labor on my own.
Around 12:30 am on the 29th, I was about to go to bed and got up and felt some fluid leaking. I ended up deciding it was time to go to the hospital. I had a contraction on the way there. I was shaking a lot, I think from my nerves, lol.
When we got there we got hooked up to a machine to monitor Seth's heartbeat and my contractions. Then they examined me. They said that my water hadn't broken (I thought maybe it had), but I was dilated to 5 cm, so they admitted me.
When I got to my room I could hear other women screaming from labor pains
lol. I went as long as I could without an epidural. I was 8 cm when I got it. I was at 8 cm for awhile and didn't get the epidural until about 2 hours after I originally wanted it because there was only one anesthesiologist and there were a bunch of c-sections that had priority over the vaginal births
. They finally called in a second guy and I got my epidural. While I was getting it, I was sitting there hunched over, with David in front of me comforting me (I was scared to get it), and of course my water had to break right then
. I had to sit in it and not move because they were poking my spine. It also got on David's leg lol.
Once I had the epidural I felt a lot better. Finally, after 12 hours of labor, I was able to start pushing. About two hours went by, and nothing was happening. I could feel Seth wanting to come out, but he wasn't moving. Finally his head started to come out a little. By that time my doctor was finally there. Another half hour went by and she told me that if Seth wasn't out in the next half hour, I would have to have a c-section. She doesn't like to give c-sections, and I think she thought I wasn't trying hard enough or something because she sounded a little irritated with me. After 15 minutes, she ended up using one of those vacuum suction things and it helped a little. Then she used another one and told me it was my last chance. So I was pushing and pushing, and out comes his head finally! Then the shoulders.... then the baby... then everyone realized how enormous he was. They weighed him and he was 10 pounds 15 ounces, and 23 inches long! The doctor felt bad after that because if she would have thought he'd be that big, she would have scheduled me for a c-section. There was some damage done to me, but it could have been worse so I'm not really complaining. I'm healing well. Everyone, even all the nurses were amazed that I was able to push him out. I was given until 3:30 pm before she was going to give me a c-section, and he was born at 3:32. He had to stay in the hospital for five days due to some jaundice and his white blood cell count was a little too high so they wanted to be sure that there wasn't an infection.
